That price tag is tough to swallow for sure! This will likely be a one-time thing. The world is definitely a big place with many options! I've done it all three years, but the cost is just so out there now. I could do two or even three local events for what Disney is charging. Or for a little bit more, I could drive to Arizona and do a race there and get another state finished. I get that there are people who don't hesitate to throw money at Disney, but I'm not one of those people. While I enjoy their races, the world is a big place and there are many options...Jennifer K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/06606118336143343644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-180965920313512699.post-86787037880243659162014-04-13T13:42:34.919-07:002014-04-13T13:42:34.919-07:00Cindy--that's my exact reasoning! Yes, we are...Cindy--that's my exact reasoning! Yes, we are very fortunate in that we can fly for practically free and stay at hotels for free very often too (due to my hubby's job and frequent traveler rewards). And we are lucky enough that we aren't going into runDisney debt, but you are so right on--it will never "make sense". Now I'm all excited!!! My sis-in-law raves about the Tink course, especially in comparison to DL Half. Hope to see you at a race sometime :)Disney Runs in the Familyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06361890697749649906noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-180965920313512699.post-2259485564725580242014-04-13T13:39:07.805-07:002014-04-13T13:39:07.805-07:00We (me, my hubby Billy, and my sis-in-law Katie) a...We (me, my hubby Billy, and my sis-in-law Katie) are all hoping to get legacy for Dumbo :) I love when decisions are easy! We've run the Disneyland Half since 2010 and now don't even give it a second thought!Disney Runs in the Familyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06361890697749649906noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-180965920313512699.post-37372527131785901442014-04-13T11:37:31.749-07:002014-04-13T11:37:31.749-07:00Love your blog site! I have no idea your financial situation, but it sounds a lot like mine. It is doable, but you can't ever justify it financially. Meaning, you can do it financially, but you are not in the Donald Trump part of your life. Oh well, be like me, just do it! I am here to tell you, if you have never done Tink, you are missing out. It is my favorite of rD events. I live in NC and have done all WDW events, excluding marathon weekend and hands down Tink is awesome! I hate they moved it to May, as it probably kicks me out (refer to not being in the Donald Trump category and have a job). Princess is okay, she was my first (2012) and each year I say it will be my last, but this year pink C2C brought me back. Boy is she pretty, my pink C2C. I received so many compliments on her, she was well worth it. You won't regret it. Plus, like you said, rD may cancel it eventually. I still cuss over not signing up for the 5K for Tink in 2013, it ended up being Carsland themed. I wanted that medallion as Carsland rocks! Silly I know, but I wanted it so bad I almost knocked a kid out to steal it, okay maybe not that bad. Just Do It! If you are thinking about it, and can swing it, you have already answered your question. You kinda have to do it :) Cindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14132359558881226787noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-180965920313512699.post-68650092759314329602014-04-13T10:28:39.208-07:002014-04-13T10:28:39.208-07:00I'm doing Tink again in 2015 because my friend...I'm doing Tink again in 2015 because my friend and I have been running since the Inaugural. But we've, more or less, agreed to quit Tink after we run the 5 year anniversary race. Until then..to Tink or not to Tink is already answered, Tinker On! :-) Jac @ Running in the Bike Lanehttp://www.challengedandrunninginthebikelane.comnoreply@blogger.com
